until she teleports over to burn another brand in my shoulder, you mean!
If she's really him you can't stop her! N?ONE of us can stop her!

[there's a pause in replies. It's a generous offer, and he's struck for a moment by that. Miles and Mark are targets enough on their own, but Mark would be willing to bring Rincewind in as well? Draw further attention just to look out for him?]

April has the house warded, where I live isn't the issue. [it's everywhere he doesn't.]

How are you possibly taking this calmly? You really aren't afraid?

wizzardly: (This is about to be awful isn't it?)
From: [personal profile] wizzardly
Every time I've thought I've hit rock-bottom, someone's been kind enough to open a trap door and prove me wrong.
But if you need delusion to cope, I won't blame you for it.
I didn't consider him coming back in a different host. I didn't even think about it, even though I knew he could. Imagine if she hadn't gone and announced herself, we wouldn't have even known.

wizzardly: (Oooooh this is not good.)
From: [personal profile] wizzardly
Not yet. I'm just trying to figure out if this Lucifer remembers everything. Or anything. People come back without their memories sometimes.

Maybe it could even happen to gods.

wizzardly: (Don't start being nice to me)
From: [personal profile] wizzardly
Well there's something to hope for.

And I mean that body wasn't his. It was a person once, and he moved into them and hollowed them out. His kind can't be here physically without using a human body. The Things from the Dungeon Dimensions back home were similar.

They're called "vessels", if I'm remembering right. Some work better than others for them, but I never found out what determined that.

wizzardly: But running away is forever. (Dead is only for once)
From: [personal profile] wizzardly
Sort of. They don't eat them though, just their presence sort of burns their soul away, I think.

Horrifying either way.

From: [personal profile] wizzardly
As long as they don't think to take it out on us.

That's insane. You know that, right? It's important to me that you know that.

wizzardly: Just consider it? Just for a moment? (I don't suppose you'd just let me go?)
From: [personal profile] wizzardly
And when has looking for trouble ever helped?

wizzardly: (I can do a lot with a few seconds.)
From: [personal profile] wizzardly
I'd like you to take a moment and imagine Miles typing those words to you.

Go on, I'll wait.

wizzardly: (If we're talking about anyone being dead)
From: [personal profile] wizzardly
You're missing the point, a bit.

wizzardly: Just consider it? Just for a moment? (I don't suppose you'd just let me go?)
From: [personal profile] wizzardly
No. No, it's really not. I've never gotten that, why people think dying one way can be better than another just because it's more noble. You're still dead at the end. Perception doesn't count for much with that.

If you can stand, you can run. That's better.

I mean I'm not going to argue and say I approve of that sort of thing either.

It's more that I especially disapprove when said person being burned is me.
